Sushi restaurant fails inspection after roaches found

A sushi restaurant in Seminole County failed a health inspection last week after it was cited for multiple code violations, including the presence of live roaches.

Miyako Sushi, which is located at 2871 Clayton Crossing Way #1087, was forced to temporarily close on November 30 after failing an inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

According to the report, at least 14 violations were cited during the health inspection, including 4 considered high priority. Among the high priority violations was the presence of roaches, as evidenced by at least six live roaches found.

During the inspection, live roaches were found crawling on a door handle, below a sushi counter, and on the floor. The report also notes that roach excrement was observed below the sushi counter as well.

The restaurant was reinspected later that day and was permitted to reopen its doors after only six violations remained.
