Thief conceals PS5, Xbox accessories in cart with towels

Sanford police are asking the public for help to identify a man who allegedly stole over $1,000 worth of merchandise in a shopping cart that he concealed with towels.

The man featured in this story was seen entering the Target located at 1201 WP Ball Boulevard on December 12, 2023, according to a statement from the Sanford Police Department.

During his visit, the man selected a Gillette razor, a pack of razor refills, and two white towels. He placed all of the items in a shopping cart.

The man then selected five PlayStation 5 controllers, four gaming headsets, and an Xbox Turtle Beach Stealth Pro gaming system. He then took all of the accessories and covered them inside the shopping cart with the two towels.

He left the store immediately thereafter without paying.

The items had a total value of approximately $1,060.89, according to SPD.
