Gregory V. Brook

Gregory V. Brook of Sanford, Florida, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024, Gregory V. Brook, 75, of Sanford, FL, passed away peacefully after a courageous 15+ year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Greg was born on November 25, 1948, and grew up in Rochester, NY. Greg graduated from Penfield High School and went on to earn his BS in Business from Ohio State. During this time, Greg also joined the Marine Corps Reserves.

Greg married the love of his life, Carol, in 1969. He and Carol spent their lives together with much love raising a family (daughter Shauna (Andrew) MacIntyre, Colgate, WI, and son Christopher (Brittany Peters) Brook, Milwaukee, WI), supporting each other, traveling, and enjoying a variety of shared interests.

Notably, some of Greg’s favorite activities included downhill skiing, hiking, and bicycling. He and Carol loved their years of biking 50-100 miles a day together, and hiking and skiing in the mountains of Utah. Greg enjoyed being active and found ways to continue his love for biking throughout his life which aided in delaying the effects of his Parkinson’s. Greg also loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren (Austin and Paige MacIntyre), enjoying any opportunity to see them through important moments.

Greg had a long and successful career in Operations and Leadership for various companies specializing in Food Manufacturing in New York, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Utah, to name a few. In 2009, Greg retired from MarketFare Foods as VP of Operations in Arizona.

Greg was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather who took great pleasure in providing for his family, finding ways to make memories, and starting the much-loved tradition of reading to/with his grandchildren “Twas the Night Before Christmas” on Christmas Eve. Greg had an unforgettable sense of humor with an ability to make those who knew him and complete strangers laugh unexpectedly. Within his family, Greg held the honor of Turkey Guy, proudly cooking nearly as many Thanksgiving/Birthday Turkeys as the years he was married.

Greg is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol, daughter and son, grandchildren, sisters-in-law Margo Pfauser and Jeannie (David) Gallant, brother Richard Brook, and several nieces and nephews.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Franklin Brook, uncle and aunt Paige and Alice Brook, and brother-in-law, John Pfauser.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all his friends, support groups, and providers who showed Greg incredible kindness, patience, friendship, and support to enable him to continue to do the things he loved and needed as his health declined. A special thanks to Senior Helpers, who provided a helping hand in the home, and to Advent Hospice Care, who all gave loving support and care to Greg and his family during this difficult time.
