A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at an Orlando residence that claimed the life of a 46-year-old man in 2023.
On Thursday, May 2, 2024, 33-year-old Jose Antonio Sanchez was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and burglary of a dwelling with a firearm, according to a statement issued by the Orlando Police Department.
Jose Antonio Sanchez is being charged with the shooting death of Pedro Bautista-Sanchez, which occurred on June 23, 2023.
On the night of the shooting, at around 9:45 p.m., OPD officers were dispatched to a home located in the 500 block of Verbena Court. Upon arrival, they located the victim, later identified as Bautista-Sanchez, who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
The victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Orlando Fire Department personnel.
No further details were provided by Orlando police.
After his arrest on Thursday morning, Sanchez was transported to Orange County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
