Wyndham Resort on I-Drive to close

The Wyndham Orlando Resort located on International Drive in Orlando will soon be closing, and over 150 employees will be terminated as a result.

On Monday, April 29, Wyndham Orlando Resort made the announcement in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filing with the Florida Department of Commerce.

The resort, which is located at 8001 International Drive in Orlando, includes 633 rooms and 60,000 square feet of meeting space.

In Monday’s filing, Wyndham Orlando Resort announced that its I-Drive location is closing, and Davidson Hotel Company LLC (d/b/a Davidson Hospitality Group) will be ceasing operations at the hotel at that time.

As a result, a total of 167 employees at the resort will be permanently laid off. The first employee separations are expected to begin on June 29, 2024, and will continue over a two-week period.

The affected employees are not represented by a union and have no bumping rights, according to the filing.
