With an extremely heavy heart, it is incredibly sad to inform friends and family that my mother, Ruth Taromino, passed away on May 17, 2024, at 9:30 p.m. She was born March 21, 1932 and was 92 years old, she passed away at home, surrounded by close family.
She was predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Samuel “Fabulous Sammy TV” Taromino Sr., in 2004; her son Samuel Taromino Jr. in 2018; and her grandson Kenneth Taromino Jr. in 2015.
She is survived by her two children: Kenneth Taromino Sr. and his wife Penelope, and Jeannette Patryas and her husband Art. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, June Taromino, 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind one surviving sister-in-law, Pat Foley of East Rochester, NY.
Special thanks go to her nieces Debra Taromino Trolinder and her family, Mary Ann Bisogno of California, Gigi Baldo of North Rochester, NY, and Antoinette Thrift of Ft. Myers, FL, along with several more nieces and nephews for their calls, cards, and gifts, especially over the last few years.
My mom touched the heart of everyone she met. She always made sure there was plenty of food for any gathering at her home and was everyone’s favorite grandma, aunt, sister, or sister-in-law. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since the early seventies and the Moose Lodge in Kissimmee, FL, for over 30 years. She owned and operated Rosie’s Pub in Kissimmee, FL, with her husband for 15 years.
Her life should be an inspiration to all women afflicted with breast cancer. Mom (Ruth) survived it in 1965 and again in 1981 and lived to the age of 92.
She wanted a celebration of life at her Eastern Ave home in St. Cloud, FL. It will be held on May 25th at 1 p.m. There will be food and a service for her around 3:15 p.m. Family is asked, if possible, to bring a dish to pass. Friends are also welcome to contribute to the food. Her ashes will be transported to NY, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Sam.
