A 27-year-old Orlando man died on Friday afternoon after his motorcycle struck a guardrail on State Road 408 in Orange County.

At around 1 p.m. on Friday, the motorcyclist was riding eastbound on State Road 408, near mile marker 23 (State Road 50), according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

A witness spoke with FHP and advised that the motorcycle was “rapidly changing lanes” while speeding shortly before the crash.

FHP stated that the motorcycle’s rider lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve, which caused it to veer off the roadway to the right. Moments later, the motorcycle collided with a guardrail.

The man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A trooper noted in the report that the man was wearing a helmet.

The fatal crash remains under investigation, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
