An 18-year-old man and 16-year-old boy have been arrested on murder charges for their alleged involvement in the shooting death of a teen in Orange County.

The fatal shooting occurred near the 10100 block of Chesham Drive at around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 12, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

After receiving reports of a shooting, OCSO deputies arrived on scene and found male victim who had been shot to death.

The victim was later identified by the sheriff’s office as 17-year-old Gabriel Rosario Cortez.

A homicide investigation was launched by OCSO, which led detectives to identifying two individuals – 18-year-old Marcus Anttwain Anderson, Jr. and 16-year-old Naki Lamar Anderson – as suspects in this case.

On Wednesday, December 18, Marcus Anttwain Anderson, Jr. and Naki Lamar Anderson were both placed under arrest on charges of first-degree murder.

“We don’t have any additional details to release at this time,” said OCSO in a statement following the arrests of both suspects.
