A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with murder, three weeks after an 18-year-old man was fatally shot in Orlando.

On Thursday, March 20, at around 8:45 p.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 400 block of Creekwood Drive in Orlando in reference to a shooting incident, according to OCSO.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found an 18-year-old man who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The following morning, the victim was identified by OCSO as Divine Leron Freitas.

An ensuing homicide investigation led OCSO detectives to identifying Terrence Akiniabi Jordan, 17, as a suspect in Freitas’ shooting death.

On Thursday, April 10, OCSO announced that Jordan has been arrested on the following charges: first-degree murder with a firearm and robbery with a firearm.

No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office regarding the shooting incident or Jordan’s alleged involvement in it.
