James Ronald Kidd, 86, of Apopka, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025. Born on May 27, 1938, in Millfield, Ohio, Jim was the son of the late James Franklin and Crystal Morgan Kidd.

Jim graduated from Chauncey-Dover High School and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he attended Ohio State University, where he met and married his wife, Jane Ann Kidd. Sadly, Jane predeceased him on November 14, 2005.

Jim had a 30-year career as a dedicated Boilermaker and was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. He worked as a boilermaker, superintendent, and assistant business manager before retiring.

In 1972, Jim and Jane moved to Florida, where they raised their family. Over the years, they lived in several Florida cities, including Brooksville, Indiantown, and eventually Apopka. A lover of the outdoors, Jim had a deep appreciation for animals and nature, often sharing these passions with his family.

Jim is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Leon McCook of Apopka, Florida; his daughter, Jenni and Todd Pfeiffer of Land O’ Lakes, Florida; and his son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Kidd of Maitland, Florida. He also leaves behind ten beloved grandchildren Leon McCook, Shawn McCook, Nicholas McCook, Taylor McCook, Bryce Pfeiffer, Brett Pfeiffer, Brynn Pfeiffer, Alexis Kidd, James Kidd, and Madelyn Kidd. Jim was also blessed with two great-grandchildren Macy McCook, and Colton McCook.

    He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Jo and Richard C. “Dick” Zielke of Frankenmuth, Michigan, and his brother, Roger Eugene Kidd of Millfield, Ohio. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Nancy Kidd, and his sister, Candy Kidd.

    A private family service will be held to celebrate Jim’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting Jim’s passion for supporting research in the fight against childhood cancer.

    The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support during this time.
