Edith Tidwell Thompson went to be with the Lord on August 12, 2025 in Orlando, Florida at the age of 87.
She was preceded by her parents Edd Tidwell and Tressie Menalis. Also, by her grandson, Richard Brian Thompson.
She was survived by her husband of 71 years, Richard “Dick” Thompson and their four children, Jennie Ahern, Cathy Peacock, Richard Thompson II and Russell Thompson and spouses. She has 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a book keeper and financial assistant which included Winter Park Baptist Church. She also worked for the Huntsville Mental Health Association and Showalter Flying Service. Edie was a strong Christian woman that lived her life serving the Lord.
A celebration of life will be held in Edie’s honor at Encounter Christian Church on August 23, 2025 at 2 p.m. Located at 1140 S Lakemont Ave., Winter Park, Florida 32792.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
