The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for a hit-and-run driver involved in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 4 in Volusia County that left three people dead on Saturday night.

The crash occurred on I-4, near mile marker 108, at around 9:55 p.m. on Saturday, October 4. According to an FHP report, the four vehicles involved – a 2025 Dodge Durango, 2013 Ford Focus, 2001 Suzuki motorcycle, and 2020 Honda Pilot – were all heading eastbound on the interstate.

FHP stated that the Dodge’s driver veered from the center lane to the inside lane. As a result, the Dodge entered the direct path of the Ford, and the left side of the Dodge proceeded to strike the Ford’s right side, causing a “chain reaction” collision with the Suzuki.

After the initial impact between the Dodge and Ford, the Ford left the roadway and collided with a guardrail before re-entering the eastbound lanes. The Ford then struck the Honda.

According to the report, the Dodge’s driver fled from the scene of the multi-vehicle crash.

The driver and sole occupant of the Ford, a 47-year-old Deltona woman, was transported to AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City for treatment of “non-life-threatening” injuries.

The three other individuals involved in the collision sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. They were identified in the report as a 54-year-old Deltona man (Suzuki’s rider), 59-year-old Palm Coast man (Honda’s driver), and 60-year-old Palm Coast woman (Honda’s passenger).

An FHP trooper noted in the report that a Dodge Durango was later located by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office in a parking lot. The vehicle, which was unoccupied and had “damage consistent with the collision,” was taken into evidence by homicide investigators.

No further details were provided by FHP as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
