Zuleika Lara, 70, passed away on April 14, 2026, shortly after her birthday on April 1, after a sudden illness. Born in Elías Piña, Dominican Republic, she later made her life in the United States, where she raised her three children, Jessielle, Pavielle, and Oscar Dorian.
She was known for her charisma, her ability to bring people together, and her strength in times of crisis. She enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, dancing whenever she could, and listening to music, especially Alejandro Fernández. She also admired figures such as actor Gerard Butler and soccer player Lionel Messi. Throughout her life, she visited countries including China, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, and several countries in Latin America.
She was also deeply devoted to her beloved cat, Apple, and on special occasions enjoyed a Dominican cigar. And if there was one daily ritual she cherished, it was a good gourmet croissant paired with quality coffee in the morning — a small luxury she truly appreciated.
She is survived by her children, her grandchildren Ryder and Valen, and all those whose lives she touched.
She will be remembered for her intensity, her generosity, and the lasting impression she left on those around her.
If you would like to send flowers, Zuleika loved orchids.
