An Orlando video game developer has filed a formal notice with the state of Florida detailing plans to permanently terminate 50 employees at its downtown facility.

In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter filed on Friday, April 17, Iron Galaxy Studios confirmed the mass layoff at its office located at 189 S Orange Ave in Downtown Orlando. The studio indicated that the layoffs are permanent and affect a non-unionized workforce with no bumping rights.

The staff reductions are scheduled to take place over a three-month window, beginning on April 17 and continuing through July 17, 2026. The cuts heavily impact the company’s technical and creative departments, with programming roles seeing the most significant losses.

Head of People Vika Tiapkova issued the notice to Florida Commerce as part of the studio’s official offboarding process.

According to the filing, the 50 terminations include 34 programmers across associate, mid-level, and senior positions.

The layoff also impacts seven artists, three senior designers, and various staff members in information technology, human resources, operations, production, and quality assurance.

The studio, which also operates a location in Chicago, is a known developer within the gaming industry. According to its website, Iron Galaxy has participated in the creation of multiple well-known video games, including the Killer Instinct franchise.

Additionally, the group has helped in developing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Crash Bandicoot, Fallout 76, Diablo, and Overwatch, among other video games.
