Car catches fire at Walmart in Sanford

A vehicle caught fire at a Walmart in Sanford this week.

Seminole County Fire Department crews responded to the Walmart located at 3653 S Orlando Drive in Sanford on Monday, December 26 after receiving reports of a vehicle on fire.

Upon arrival, crews located a fully involved vehicle with billowing flames and smoke.

E35 A Shift, Lt. C. Hultgreen, and firefighters T. Blum and J. Walden worked to extinguish the vehicle fire.

According to National Fire Protection Association, the top cause of vehicle fires in the United States is rotted fuel lines that leak gasoline or diesel onto engine parts. In addition to rotted fuel lines, electrical system failures are also a leading cause of car fires in the U.S.
