54-year-old Kissimmee woman hit, killed by car on U.S. 192

A 54-year-old Kissimmee woman was struck and killed this morning by a vehicle as she was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 192.

The incident took place on Wednesday morning around 8:54 a.m. along the highway near St. Cloud Village.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman, who has not been identified, was attempting to cross the eastbound lanes of the highway from north to south. The woman was not within a crosswalk or intersection, according to the FHP report.

The woman entered the direct path of a 2014 Kia Cadenza that was traveling eastbound. The vehicle was being driven by a 31-year-old Kissimmee woman.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver notified law enforcement of the collision and is cooperating with investigators as they gather evidence and statements.
