Woman arrested after 6-hour standoff, shootout with officers at McDonald’s

A 30-year-old woman who attempted to rob an Orlando area McDonald’s was arrested after a shootout with police that ended after a six-hour standoff.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call about an armed robbery in progress at the McDonald’s at 4640 South Orange Blossom Trail on Saturday, April 30, at around 10:35 p.m.

The suspect, 30-year-old Shandricka Warren, allegedly fired a handgun inside the McDonald’s and made threatening statements.

According to the report, all employees and customers were able to get out of the restaurant unharmed.

Upon their arrival, Warren opened fire from inside the restaurant at the deputies. Those deputies returned fire and, after a brief shootout, spent six hours attempting to negotiate a peaceful surrender.

Warren was taken into custody after those negotiations and exited the restaurant just before 5 a.m. She is being charged with burglary in a structure and assault with a firearm, with further charges forthcoming in the assault.

The deputies involved in the shooting are on paid temporary administrative leave. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement, State Attorney’s Office, and Orange County Sheriff’s Office will all conduct separate reviews of the deputies and their actions in the case, according to the report.
