Puerto Chino closes after roach activity cited by health inspector

A restaurant that serves Puerto Rican-style Chinese food was forced to temporarily close its doors after a heath inspector found roaches during a recent visit.

Puerto Chino, which is located at 1924 Boggy Creek Road in Kissimmee, was forced to close its doors on Thursday, January 5, after an inspector from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation cited at least a dozen violations.

Among the violations was the presence of roach activity, as evidenced by multiple live roaches found around the restaurant. That includes three live roaches near a sink, three over the cookline coolers, and one crawling on a wall.

The restaurant was inspected again on Friday, January 6, and was permitted to reopen after only four basic violations were cited.
