Orlando teens rob sellers during meet-ups for online purchases

Two Orlando teens were arrested after allegedly luring victims selling online items into in-person meetings and robbing them.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested 16-year-old Teyon Melius and 18-year-old Zarryn Jackson on January 24 after they were caught in the act of robbing victims.

According to police, the teens had agreed to meet up with an individual looking to sell a “scrapped vehicle.” The suspects allegedly lured the victim to a location and held him at gunpoint.

Through their investigation, detectives determined that the teenagers were responsible for three additional robberies. In those instances, which took place throughout the month of January, all of the robberies were executed with similar tactics.

“If you need to exchange anything you buy or sell online, come to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office at 2500 W. Colonial Drive, where you will find E-Commerce Exchange zones,” reads a statement issued by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Jackson and Melius are being charged with robbery with a firearm, third degree grand theft, and fleeing/eluding police.
