21-year-old killed in Apopka, police looking for suspects

Police are looking for any information that may help them identify those responsible for shooting and killing a 21-year-old man in Apopka last week.

Redd Nelson, who turned 21 in January, was found dead by Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday, February 17.

On that day, deputies responded to the 1300 block of South Highland Avenue in reference to a shooting around 9:42 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found the body of Nelson, who had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating the case and have not provided any additional details.
