Japanese restaurant closes after inspector cites roaches

A Japanese restaurant in Ocoee was forced to temporarily close its doors after a health inspector cited multiple violations, including the presence of roaches.

Sukoy Hibachi Express, which is located at 320 Moore Road in Ocoee, was forced to close its doors on Monday, February 27, after it failed a health inspection conducted by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

According to the health inspector’s report, at least 12 violations were cited, including the presence of roaches. During the inspector’s visit, at least 10 roaches were spotted throughout the restaurant.

Additionally, the report notes that some food did not have proper time markings, and a cutting board was soiled.

The restaurant was permitted to reopen the following day, after the health inspector cited only four remaining violations.
