Geraldine Martin

Geraldine Martin, 84, of Gotha, Florida gained her Angel wings on Thursday March 9, 2023 after a long-fought battle with dementia.

She was predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Tommy Allen Martin. She was also predeceased by her parents Willard and Tenella Wise, her sister Nadine Hey; brother Jimmy Wise; nieces Sherena Watson and Kelly Wise Henry.

Gerry is survived by her son, Scott Martin (Alicia), her grandchildren Tommy John Martin, Taylor Paige (Bronson) Fernandez, and two great-grandsons, Clark Mccoy and Teddy Scott Fernandez. She is also survived by her siblings Linda Adams; Junior (Sherry) Wise, Glenn (Charlotte) Wise, Donald (Candy) Wise, Tammy Watson, Jeff Wise and Sister-in-law Cindy Wise. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Gerry led the Wise Crew. Being the oldest, she was always the boss! First in line at a Buffet and first in line to help out. She loved her family with all her heart. She loved to shop, work in the yard, travel, the beach and all her friends. She loved her Florida Gators! She and Tommy were Season Ticket Holders and enjoyed all the Gator Home Games and even traveled to New Orleans at one point for the SEC Championship Game.

She worked at Lockheed Martin for 38 years in the Aeronautics Department. She retired to help take care of her grandchildren, Tommy and Taylor, who she cherished. Field Trips, Classroom parties, you name it! She never missed an Award Ceremony or Ball Game of any kind.

In her later years she developed dementia and we all watched this vibrant, stubborn, strong willed, loving, giving human fall slowly to this disease. We are at peace now knowing she is resting with the Angels.

Special Thanks to Ann Martin for the love and support she gave Gerry. Much gratitude also to her case manager, Paula and Aide Myra.
