Charles Cameron Hill

Chad grew up in Homewood, Alabama and graduated from Shades Valley High in 1962, He played football, baseball and was chaplain in his senior year. He was also a youth minister in his Methodist church. He enrolled at the University of Alabama and was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He met his wife, Gloria, on campus and they were married in October, 1965.

They moved to Mobile where he worked as a reporter for the Mobile Press Register and he graduated from the University of South Alabama. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona where Chad attended Arizona State and worked as a reporter for the Phoenix Gazette. Their son, Greg, was born in 1969 in Arizona. The family moved to Oregon where Chad had a job with the Eugene Register Guard. They decided to move to California in 1970. Chad was hired as a reporter for a San Jose newspaper. A new job opportunity was offered to him to work at a large Public Relations firm in San Francisco. Their son Bret was born in Palo Alto. Then Chad was offered a PR Director job with a high tech computer firm. After that he was recruited as a PR Director at the Louisville headquarters of KFC. While living there he had an offer as a PR Director for Computerland and the company moved his family to Danville, CA. After working for Computerland, he decided to start his own PR firm which became very successful with clients in Silicon Valley California, other US states, England, Scotland and Japan were some of the accounts he had.

He entertained his clients on 2 large sailboats on the San Francisco bay. He enjoyed jogging and running marathons. He taught his sons to fish and had many happy hours fishing with them. In 2010 we decided to move to Winter Park, Florida to be near our younger son, Bret, and he became a member of the University Club of Winter Park. He wrote a book about propaganda, and it was published. His health started to fail during COVID and in the last 6 months he has had many medical problems. He passed away in an Orlando hospital the morning of March 24th. He was a dedicated father and husband who was married to Gloria for 57 years.
