Man, woman found dead in possible suicide-homicide in west Orlando

Law enforcement authorities are investigating a possible suicide-homicide after a man and woman were found suffering from gunshot wounds that the man inflicted in a west Orlando apartment.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Residence at West Place Apartments in the 700 block of Sherwood Terrace Drive on Wednesday, May 10, at around 10:13 a.m. in reference to a call about a man with a gun.

While deputies were traveling to the scene, a 911 caller said the man had fired the gun. As deputies arrived at the apartment, they heard additional shots being fired.

After entering the residence, authorities found a woman and man who had been shot. The man appeared to have a self-inflicted gunshot wound. An innocent bystander that was inside the apartment was grazed by one of the suspect’s bullets and was treated at the scene.

Both the man and the woman were transported to a local hospital, where they later died from their injuries.

Police say they are not looking for any outstanding suspects. The investigation is in the early stages and more information will be released by detectives tomorrow, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
