77-year-old Winter Park woman killed in SR 426 accident

A 77-year-old woman from Winter Park was killed after her SUV was struck by another vehicle while she was turning off State Road 426.

According to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal accident took place on Saturday, May 20, at around 8:39 p.m.

The woman was driving her 2020 Nissan Rogue eastbound on SR 426/Aloma Avenue, approaching the intersection with Eastbrook Boulevard in the left turn lane.

She attempted to make a left turn to travel northbound on Eastbrook Boulevard when she entered the direct path of a 2012 Jaguar XF being driven by a 25-year-old Winter Park man.

As a result, the front of the Jaguar struck the right side of the Rogue.

The woman was transported to AdventHealth Winter Park Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The 25-year-old driver and his passenger, a 29-year-old Winter Park man, were both transported to the same hospital with minor injuries.
