Rash of vehicle burglaries, thefts in Oviedo under investigation

Law enforcement authorities are investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries and thefts that took place this past week in Seminole County.

Oviedo Police Department detectives say that between the hours of 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, and 3 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, multiple vehicle burglaries took place in the areas of Oviedo on the Park. Police say there was special focus on Boardwalk Avenue, Center Lake Lane, and Oviedo Boulevard.

Police say the suspects are described as teenagers with gray hoodies, wearing masks, driving a silver/gray newer model Hyundai Sonata, featured above.

OPD is asking the public to check surveillance cameras to determine if there is any footage showing the suspects in the case.

“Please review your cameras to see if you observe either the suspects or the vehicles,” reads a statement from OPD.

If you have videos or photos that may help police identify the suspects, visit the Oviedo Police Department portal to upload your documents.
