Two victims identified in fatal shootings over weekend

Orlando police have identified the victims of two fatal shootings that took place over the weekend.

On Monday, Orlando Police Department shared details on two separate shooting incidents that claimed the lives of 50-year-old Joan Foster and 47-year-old Pedro Bautista Sanchez.

During the first shooting, OPD officers responded to the 500 block of Verbena Court on Friday, June 23, at around 9:46 p.m. in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim who had been shot. That victim, who was later identified as Sanchez, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Orlando Fire Department personnel.

During the second shooting, OPD officers responded to the Metro Place Apartments (907 S. Kirkman Road) on Saturday, June 24, at around 5:25 p.m. in reference to a shooting with a victim.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult female, later identified as Foster, had been shot. Foster was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center by OFD. She was treated for her injuries, but ultimately succumbed to them hours after she arrived at the hospital.

Another victim who was shot and killed during a third, separate incident in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 24, was identified by police on Monday morning. That victim, 28-year-old Willie Alphonso Bell, Jr., was killed at the Unity Banquet Hall (2620 N Hiawassee Road), while three other individuals were injured as a result of the shooting. Police are also looking for additional details in that case.
