Sally Del Rio

Sally Del Rio 92, of Orlando Florida, passed away on Sunday May 22, 2022. Sally was born March 23, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of the late Carmelo and Frances Colon. Sally was married to Reverend Eladio Del Rio on November 15, 1952. She and Eladio remained married for 62 years until his death in 2014. Together they had 5 children, Ruben, Peter, John, Gloria and Raymond. Ruben, Peter and his wife Lani, as well as Raymond and his lifelong partner Nora Rizzo are currently celebrating with her in heaven. Sally is survived by her son John and his wife Elise Del Rio as well as her daughter Gloria and her husband Rene Jacques. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, Zachary, Micah, Corey, Cody, William, Michael, Stephanie, Raymond Jr, Keith, John David, Andrew, and Amanda; and 2 great-grandchildren: Gavin and Logan. Sally is also survived by her siblings: Elizabeth and her husband Frank Montalvo, as well as her Brother Frankie Colon, and her sister in law Ida Colon. Her siblings; sisters Mary Ayala and Ruth Perez, brothers; Peter and Ruben Colon, have preceded her to glory, and are with her now celebrating in our Savior’s presence. Sally was a lifelong learner who enjoyed reading and learning anything about the Bible. She attended Elim Bible institute as well as extended classes for early childhood education at Utica College. Sally worked for the Utica City school district in New York, and for Forest Park Elementary school Orlando Florida. She was also employed at Conway Learning Center in Orlando where she continued to be a blessing to many children in her decade plus service there. Sally the Pastor’s wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend was a mentor to many. She will be greatly missed.
