Orlando Magic playing game in Mexico City

The Orlando Magic will play one of their regular season games in Mexico City.

On Wednesday, the National Basketball Association announced the NBA Mexico City Game 2023 will feature a showdown between the Atlanta Hawks and the Orlando Magic.

The game will mark the league’s 32nd game in Mexico since 1992, which is more than any country outside of the United States and Canada.

The Magic will play its fourth game in Mexico since 2012, while the Hawks will be playing their first game in Mexico.

The game will air live in Mexico on ESPN, Star+, TUDN, and NBA League Pass.

“With the Magic having been to London twice, Japan, China, Brazil and Mexico City previously, we love representing the NBA and the City of Orlando when we have the opportunity to play in these Global Games. We’ve had the opportunity to be in Mexico City before, and we know the passion of the fans and are really looking forward to bringing our team back to Mexico City to play,” said Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins.

In addition to the NBA game, the weeklong celebration will also feature a matchup between NBA G League Teams the Osceola Magic and Mexico City Capitanes.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Saturday, August 19. To find out more about the event, or to purchase tickets in the coming weeks, visit the 2023 NBA Mexico City Game webpage.
