Orlando man wins $1,000,000 from ticket bought at 7-Eleven

An Orlando man won a $1,000 a Week for Life and chose to receive it as a $1,000,000-lump-sum payment after purchasing a ticket from a local 7-Eleven.

On Monday, the Florida Lottery announced that Wilford Hancel claimed a $1,000 a Week for Life second-tier prize from the multi-state draw game, CASH4LIFE.

The drawing for the winning ticket was held on January 31, 2023.

Hancel chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump sum payment of $1,000,000.

Hancel purchased his winning CASH4LIFE ticket from the 7-Eleven located at 1755 North Econlockhatchee Trail in Orlando. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning CASH4LIFE Draw game ticket.

The CASH4LIFE multi-state draw game offers two lifetime prizes, with the chance to win $1,000 a Day for Life or $1,000 a Week for Life. Florida is the ninth state to join CASH4LIFE, according to the Florida Lottery.

CASH4LIFE drawings are held every day at 9 p.m., EST at the New Jersey Lottery Headquarters studio. Since joining CASH4LIFE in 2017, Florida has had more than 26.1 million winning tickets totaling more than $158.5 million in prizes.
