New wildlife attraction opening on I-Drive

A new wildlife center that will allow guests to get up close and personal with kangaroos, monkeys, sting rays and other exotic creatures is opening on International Drive next month.

The Cool Zoo Wildlife Center is nearing completion on a new, 10,000-square-foot facility at 6400 International Drive, Suite 101-105.

According to the company, the wildlife center will open to the public on Friday, September 8, 2023.

In addition to an extensive list of animals, the center will feature gemstone mining, fossil find, VR 360 machines that will take visitors on an educational ride on how to make a difference in the world of wildlife.

All animals are ambassadors that are prescreened to ensure they meet AZA guidelines and are able to meet members of the public for short periods of time. The animals do not remain at the wildlife center for extended periods of time. According to the organization, once animal ambassadors complete the program, they are moved on to forever homes.

The general admission to the center will be $15 cash per person over the height of 24 inches. The facility will also offer private, one-on-one animal ambassador meet and greets, which will range in price from $10 to $100 per person.

The new facility joins a collection of other attractions in various stages of construction on International Drive.

In June, Arcade Monsters announced that it is in the midst of constructing Florida’s largest arcade on International Drive. The 15,000-square-foot facility will mark the fifth location in the state of Florida that the company has opened.

In January, Roboland opened its robotics show at 6464 International Drive. The park features multiple opportunities to meet and interact with robots up-close.
