Jet fuel tanker overturns at Orlando Sanford Airport

Emergency crews were called to the Orlando Sanford International Airport after a tanker carrying jet fuel overturned on a runway.

Seminole County Fire Department, Sanford Airport Fire Department, and Sanford Fire Department units responded to the incident on Thursday, July 27.

According to authorities, approximately 15 gallons of fuel spilled during the incident and the remaining 6,000 gallons was pumped off before the tanker could be turned upright.

Last month, the Orlando Sanford Airport announced that it would terminate dozens of employees before Allegiant Airlines stepped in to hire many of them.
