30-year-old killed in Parramore, suspect arrested

A suspect has been arrested in a shooting that claimed the life of a 30-year-old man in the Parramore community this week.

On Thursday, August 24, deputies from the Orange and Osceola County Sheriff’s Offices arrested Antwan Kegler, 40, on charges of murder and aggravated battery.

Kegler is accused of shooting and killing Ernest Charles Petway, Jr. According to the Orlando Police Department, officers responded to the 800 block of West Anderson Street at approximately 4 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23, in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, police found Petway, Jr. suffering from injuries sustained from gunshots. Petway, Jr.s was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The Orlando Police Department Homicide Unit is still asking people with information related to the incident to contact their division at 407-235-3500, or the Central Florida Crimeline at 800-423-8477.
