Mother jumps off bridge into Lake Jesup, twins found dead in home

Twin children were found dead in their home after their 31-year-old mother jumped into Lake Jesup from S.R. 417 and took her own life.

Seminole County Sheriff’s Office detectives are currently investigating the murder-suicide, which shut down a stretch of State Road 417 on Friday.

According to SCSO, at approximately 8:45 a.m., deputies received multiple calls from motorists who stated that a woman got out of the passenger side of a car parked on the shoulder of the SR 417 bridge and jumped into Lake Jesup.

Upon arrival, deputies found the woman floating in the water and enlisted the assistance of boaters, including an off-duty Seminole County Firefighter, to help recover the body.

The woman was identified as 31-year-old Catorreia Hutto, of Sanford.
