St. Cloud police are asking the public for help to identify two individuals who used installed a skimming device on an automatic teller machine at a local bank.
According to the St. Cloud Police Department, the individuals featured in this story allegedly installed a skimming device on an ATM at the Truist bank branch located at 4291 13th Street in St. Cloud.
Authorities say that the device was installed over the summer, but that bank staff hired technicians to fix the machine quickly. According to the bank, no customers reported funds missing as a result of the skimming device.
A skimming device is a card reader that collects debit and credit numbers, as well as PIN codes, from an ATM machine. The device is usually disguised to look like it is apart of the ATM. The stolen information is then used to create replica, counterfeit cards.
St. Cloud police are asking the public for help to locate the individuals who installed the device at the bank earlier this summer.
