Another low cost Canadian airline begins flights to Orlando

A low cost Canadian airline just added routes to Orlando, joining several other similar airlines that have added routes this to the city over the past several weeks.

On Tuesday, Porter Airlines announced the addition of new routes between the Orlando International Airport and two destinations in Canada: Toronto Pearson International Airport and Ottawa International Airport.

According to the company, Orlando is one of three service areas that the company has opened in the past month, including Tampa and Fort Myers.

“Canadians are the most frequent international visitors to Florida, and Porter is proud to take off on two more routes into the Sunshine State,” said Kevin Jackson, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Porter Airlines.

“Ottawa-Gatineau residents have proven that they are very keen to travel to sunny Florida,” said Mark Laroche, President and CEO, Ottawa International Airport Authority.

Earlier this month, Lynx Air began service between Orlando and Calgary, Alberta. That airline says it will operate two flights per week between the Orlando International Airport and the Calgary International Airport.

A week before Lynx, Canada Jetlines added a service between Toronto and Orlando.
