Orange County hosting adoption event for long-term shelter residents

Orange County Animal Services is hosting an adoption event this week to help two of its long-term residents find homes in the community.

The event will take place on Friday, December 22, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the shelter, which is located at 2769 Conroy Road in Orlando.

According to staff, the adoption event is being held for the benefit of Simoni and Crunch, who have been residents of the shelter since October 20, due to a “large-scale confiscation case for neglect.” Officials say they believe the dogs were housed outside for most of their lives with little socialization.

During the event, the two dogs will be placed in the front play yard for guests to interact with them directly. The shelter says the event is the third of its kind, with two others in May 2022 and March 2023 that were both successful in helping other pets find homes.

Both Simoni and Crunch will have their adoption fees waived for the duration of the event. Both dogs will be ready to go home during the event and have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
