Chazz Palminteri performing one man show in Orlando

A screenplay writer and actor who shot to fame in A Bronx Tale will take the stage at the Dr. Phillips Center this Sunday in a one-man show about his life.

A Bronx Tale will be live on stage on Sunday, January 7, at 7 p.m. in Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts (445 S. Magnolia Avenue).

Palminteri wrote the screenplay for the film A Bronx Tale and, most recently, wrote the book for the Broadway musical. It was the first time in history that the same actor wrote the one-man play, the movie, and the Broadway musical, starring in each one.

The one-man stage play depicts the actor’s bruising childhood, which included witnessing a gangland killing when he was nine years old. Palminteri played 18 characters and brought them all to life in his autobiographical play.

In the past 35 years, Chazz has appeared in over 60 films, including The Usual Suspects, Analyze This, Mulholland Falls, Jade, Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, Legend, and Bullets over Broadway, for which he was nominated for an Oscar.

Palminteri has also starred in over 20 television series and has won three Emmys. He’s made appearances in Modern Family, Godfather of Harlem, Law & Order, and Gravesend
