Motorcyclist and passenger killed on I-4 by pickup truck

A 79-year-old motorcyclist and his 63-year-old passenger were killed after their Harley Davidson was rear-ended on Interstate 4.

The fatal accident took place on Friday, March 1, at around 6:57 p.m. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist and his passenger, who were both from Orlando, were riding a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on I-4, approaching mile marker 90.

The motorcycle was traveling in the center lane of the highway, directly in front of a 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe that was also traveling westbound.

According to the report, the Tahoe failed to slow down for the motorcycle and, as a result, crashed into the back of the vehicle.

The impact caused the motorcyclist and his passenger to be ejected into the westbound lanes of the highway. Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 34-year-old Longwood man, was not injured in the crash.
