46-year-old man ejected from motorcycle, killed in east Orlando

A 46-year-old man was killed after he was ejected from his motorcycle in east Orlando last night.

The incident took place around 8:35 p.m. near the intersection of Alafaya Trail and College Park Trail. According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the man, who was from Orlando, was driving a 2006 Yamaha Motorcycle southbound in the center lane of Alafaya Trail.

According to witnesses, the motorcycle was traveling above the posted speed limit when a 2016 Kia Rio being driven by a 25-year-old Orlando woman entered into its path.

The woman was attempting to make a left turn into the Pointe at Central apartment complex at the time and was hit by the motorcycle. The man was ejected as a result of the collision and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The woman was transported to Oviedo Medical Center with minor injuries.
