Report of suspicious person causes brief lockdown at Orlando high school

Orange County authorities briefly placed Timber Creek High School on lockdown Tuesday morning after receiving reports that a suspicious person was in the area.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies quickly arrived at Timber Creek High School (1001 Avalon Park Boulevard in Orlando) and secured a perimeter around the campus.

The deputies proceeded to conduct a methodical search of every building at the high school “out of an abundance of caution.” After the search was completed, the sheriff’s office determined that there was no suspicious person.

At around noon on Tuesday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office stated in a media release that the lockdown has been lifted, and Timber Creek High School has resumed normal operations.
