Shooting at Deltona park sends man to hospital

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting incident at a local park that sent one person to the hospital on Sunday night.

According to VCSO, the shooting occurred at around 10:50 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Manny Rodriguez Park located at 1570 Overton Street in Deltona.

The sheriff’s office stated that several individuals were involved in a fight prior to shots being fired. During that physical altercation, a 24-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a serious injury. His name was not released by VCSO.

During an investigation into the shooting, detectives have interviewed “multiple subjects,” according to the sheriff’s office.

No further details were provided by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office regarding the shooting incident or any potential suspect(s).
