Police arrest two suspects in Orlando shooting that left 1 dead, 6 injured

The Orlando Police Department arrested two suspects this week in connection with a shooting incident in late February that claimed the life of a man and left six others wounded.

On Thursday, April 18, OPD announced that its Fugitive Investigative Unit arrested 20-year-old Daiquan Noah Robinson. He is facing the following charges: attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and carrying a concealed firearm.

Earlier in the week, on Monday, April 15, the same unit arrested another suspect: 40-year-old Shamika Rose Stubbs-Peterson. She is being charged with burglary of an occupied conveyance with battery, false reports to law enforcement during a capital felony investigation, and false information to law enforcement during an investigation, and battery.

Both arrests were made in connection with the fatal shooting of 21-year-old James Jerry Williams III, which occurred near the 3300 block of Ironwedge Drive in Orlando at around 11 p.m. on February 28.

On the night of the incident, OPD officers responded to the intersection of Ironwedge Drive and S Lake Orlando Parkway in reference to multiple shots being fired in the area. Upon arrival, they located a deceased man, later identified as Williams, who had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

Six other victims were wounded in the shooting, and they were transported to a local hospital.

OPD immediately launched an investigation, and its Fugitive Investigative Unit arrested a suspect, Wayne Anthony Grant, Jr., on February 29. He is being charged with aggravated battery with a firearm.
