Carmen Julia Figueroa

Carmen Julia Figueroa, went to be with her Lord peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on April 11, 2024 in Altamonte Springs, Florida at the age of 87.

Carmen was born on June 19, 1936, in Ciales, Puerto Rico. Those who knew her lovingly referred to her as “Yully”. She moved from the age of 15 from her beloved Island of Puerto Rico to New York in December, 1952. Here she embraced Haverstraw as her home and dedicated her years working and caring for her mother, Antonia Figueroa until her passing in 1981. Yully was a seamstress for nearly 40 years with Louis Hornick Company in Haverstraw, New York until her retirement in 1996. In 2000, Yully moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida to join her siblings.

Yully is survived by her loving sisters, Mary Figueroa, from Queens, New York, and Nelida Rodriguez, from Taveras, Florida and her loving brother Jose (Chieto) Figueroa from Altamonte Springs, Fl. She also leaves behind 19 nephews, nieces and their families.

The viewing will be held on April 25, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the DeGusipe Funeral Home, located at 9001 Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL.

The Funeral will be held on April 26 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 861 Maitland Avenue, Altamonte Springs, FL.

Her burial will take place immediately following Church Service at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL
