Oviedo hosting Independence Day Celebration, road closures through event

The City of Oviedo’s Independence Day Celebration & Fireworks will return this weekend and will bring a series of road closures with it.

The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Oviedo Mall, which is located at 1700 Oviedo Mall Boulevard. Festivities will include live entertainment, carnival rides, food trucks, bounce houses, face painting and a coloring station, beer and wine, vendors, a kids’ zone, and a fireworks show that will begin at 9 p.m., weather permitting.

Tickets are $20 each for the first 100 people and $25 each after that. To purchase tickets, visit the City of Ovideo Independence Day Celebration Eventbrite web page.

According to city officials, Oviedo Mall Boulevard will be closed from Hidden Branch Way and Dovera Drive beginning Friday at 12 p.m. and ending at 10 p.m. on Saturday.
