Maitland Firefighters subdue shed fire started by hot lawn mower

Maitland firefighters subdued a fire that broke out at a shed after a lawn mower overheated on Tuesday afternoon.

The Maitland Fire Rescue Department and Orange County Fire Rescue teams responded to the incident near Edgewater Drive yesterday afternoon after receiving calls about a shed catching on fire by way of a hot lawn mower.

No injuries were reported by responding personnel and the fire was subdued immediately.

The incident follows a day in which Seminole County Fire Rescue crews responded to multiple calls for trash can and dumpster fires due to people not discarding fireworks properly.
