Leo Loughran Jr.

Leo Loughran, age 93, of Longwood, died peacefully with his loved ones close by on July 6, 2022 He was a devoted husband to Nadine (Carr) Loughran who precedes him in death.

He was born in Chicago, IL on November 7, 1928 to Leo Loughran, SR and Gertrude Loughran and later stepmother Margaret Loughran. He graduated from St. Rita Catholic High School in Chicago. After graduating high school, he joined the Army where he earned the rank of Corporal. He served our country in World War II and the Korean War. He was injured in battle and received the prestigious award of the Purple Heart. After being in a military hospital for 10 months learning to walk again, he left the military to pursue his civilian life. He graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Engineering. In 1970, he and Nadine moved their 4 children to Orlando where he worked for over 40 years as a general contractor. After retirement, Mr.
Loughran was dedicated to his volunteered work at the church. Together, he and Nadine took in over 30 foster babies. He is survived by his children Thomas Loughran, Timothy Loughran, Kathleen Allen (Desmond) and Denise Bloodsworth (Sean) along with his grandchildren Kristin Allen, Justin Allen, Jordan Bloodsworth and Hunter Bloodsworth and great grandchildren Bradyn Olson, Kyndal Olson, Jayson Allen and Karya Allen and his sister Donna Henry.


Funeral arrangements are being handled by DeGusipe Funeral Home in Maitland, FL.
