Orange County looking for public transportation feedback from residents

Orange County officials will host a series of open houses across the county to gather feedback on public transportation from residents.

The open houses are part of the newly approved Transportation Sales Tax Referendum, which was relaunched earlier this year by county officials. According to the county, in 2019, Orange County held over 200 community meetings and received nearly 11,000 surveys on local transportation needs and priorities.

Presently, the county is asking residents to take its online public transportation survey in order “to make sure Orange County’s transportation priorities in 2022 still align with the initial survey,” according to a press release from the county.

Additionally, Mayor Demings, Orange County Staff and local transportation agencies will participate in six open houses, one in each commission district to further offer chances for residents to meet with transportation experts.

If you are an Orange County resident who travels regularly in the county, take the Orange County transportation survey. The survey ends on March 31 and is currently available in English and Spanish. County officials say it is currently being translated into Creole as well.

Open houses will be held as follows:

The open house for District 1 will be held at Windermere High School (5523 Winter Garden Vineland Road) on Monday, February 28, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The open house for District 2 will be held at Wekiva High School (2501 Hiawassee Road) on Tuesday, March 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The open house for District 3 will be held at Colonial High School (6100 Oleander Drive) on Monday, March 21, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
