Top Chef winner opening handmade noodle restaurant in Orlando

A former winner of Top Chef will showcase his skills at a new, handmade noodle restaurant in Orlando.

Hung Huynh, who won the third season of the critically-acclaimed cooking series, is currently working on his newest project, Bang Bang Noodle Co.

The new restaurant is currently under construction at 1112 E. Colonial Drive, next door to the Tien Hung Market Oriental Foods Center. The restaurant will specialize in Biangbiang noodles, a cuisine made popular in the Shaanxi Province of China.

The menu, which Huynh has sporadically teased through social media posts, will feature a variety of dishes that compliment the namesake, including scallion pancakes, roasted eggplant, and short rib, among others.

An opening date has not yet been announced for the new restaurant, which joins multiple others in the Mills 50 District that have opened this year.

That includes bb.q Chicken, which opened its Korean fried chicken location along East Colonial Drive, and Plantees, which opened the doors on its vegan burger and shake spot in May of this year.
