One killed, multiple others injured after head-on collision in Osceola County

One woman was killed and multiple other people were injured after two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision in Osceola County.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident took place around 9:21 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, near the intersection of State Road 60 and Mae Bass Road.

A 2022 Toyota Camry being driven by a 59-year-old Oakland Park man was traveling westbound on State Road 60, just west of Mae Bass Road, when it drifted into the eastbound lane and into the direct path of a 2017 Dodge Caravan being driven by a 53-year-old Coconut Creek man.

The vehicles collided head-on and, as a result of the collision, the Camry was sent into a wire fence.

The front passenger, a 45-year-old woman from Oakland Park, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the Camry was transported with serious injuries to the Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Another passenger in the vehicle, a 36-year-old woman from Fort Lauderdale, was transported with critical injuries to ORMC.

Two children that were riding in the same vehicle were transported to the Arnold Palmer Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Caravan was transported to Lake Wales Hospital with minor injuries.
